Uneasy lays the head that wears the crown
This proverb profoundly explains that the person who wears the crown feels very uneasy because he has to be liable for all responsibilities, to face the difficulties and has to remove them. Though he wears the decorated crown, he is worried by the countless problems and anxieties. An ordinary man has no important responsibility to accomplish or difficulties or problems to solve. Only he who has no worries and cares of life can enjoy the life. But a person who wears the crown feels very uneasy. A crown is made of gold and is studded with precious diamonds and jewels. We think that the man who wears the crown is the most luxurious man of the world. But one cannot imagine the responsibility of him. The crown is the reward of his responsibilities. But this reward proves to be the most difficult for the wearer. “Head refers the man one who leads. All the heads have the responsibility of their own kind. Crown does not here mean the decoration of the head but it refers the responsibilities. The head having the responsibility may be the head of nation, or an institution or a society or a group, or a family. Whatever the position is, the head person has sacred duty to prove to be the most sincere person for his fellow beings. We may think that men in high position are happy but their minds are always torn by tensions and problems. Bacon says,’ Men in great place are thrice servants, servants of the state, servants of fame and servants of business’. So men in high power and position are not happy because of countless anxieties and problem. A king having crown on his head envied the carefree life of the Miller of the Dee and desired to exchange his golden crown for the miller’s mealy cap. While ordinary people are carefree and mentally peaceful and ease, they are always uneasy. Only the wearer known how uneasy lies the head that wear the crown.
